Welcome to another planet... welcome to the world of the E-116. This machine runs on a concentrated dose of Argon 18 technological savvy in a time-trial/triathlon bike that defies expectations and commonly held assumptions... in record time. Think differently: yes, performance and comfort can co-exist in a bike. Yes, an aero frame can also deliver light weight and nimble handling. Think E-116.
The end product of an elaborate and intense R&D effort in aerodynamics, the E-116 benefits from the same aero-efficient frame shape as the flagship E-118: both are crafted in the same mold, developed using cutting-edge CFD aerodynamic computer-modeling software followed by actual wind tunnel testing. This bike slices through the air like a stiletto. Its lines suggest power and efficiency... high efficiency. Guided by our Optimal Balance design philosophy, the 6105 HM carbon formulation has been tailored to offer that elusive mix of low weight, comfort and stiffness. The R&D effort didn't end at the frame, but went on to create an aero fork with integrated brakes slotted into the fork's trailing edges and under the chainstays, hidden from the wind. A two-way reversible carbon seat post lets you fine-tune your position, then stays put. Last but not least, the 3D Headtube, which lets you select from three head tube heights for every frame size, for further positioning versatility and increased front-end stiffness and responsiveness. The E-116 can evolve along with your athletic progress too: if your flexibility is a little less that ideal, you can start with a taller head tube setting, gradually lowering it over time to a more aero stance.
The E-116 can evolve in other ways too: EPS, Di-2 and mechanical groups can all be fitted or swapped at any time, with no need for any extra parts. Racers work hard toward their goals. We thought it would be only be right for us to put the same kind of effort into developing a bike that would do them justice. Here it is, the world of the E-116, uncompromised performance for your benefit. Enjoy!
